I got reached out to about that role as well haha- the recruiter said comp was ‘extremely competitive’. Super competitive cutthroat culture and long work hours, high rates of attrition
I had a few convos a couple years back (not sure if that was the title then). You’re basically back office. If you can get around that it’ll pay well.

Super demanding. Super intense. When you interview invest in understanding the culture. If it’s for you, you will rise and make bank. You might state there forever. If not, you will crash wildly. It’s a binary place. Good luck!

U gonna be working 9am - 5am but yeah the comp is real
Lmao okay thanks
The cutthroat culture as as real as the comp...

My college roommate works on the investing side at Citadel.
He’s been there 5 years. From his description, it sounds like a very intense place to work. People are constantly getting fired and the stress level is very high.
I’ve actually run into Citadel alums at parties with him and they’ve been absolutely shocked that he lasted 5 years (that’s considered a “dinosaur” at Citadel).
He also said yelling and being belligerent is tolerated and normal. This is for the NYC office, I don’t know much about the Chicago office.
The money seems insane though. This guy was making $160k right after college (this was in ER at a different firm) and now he has to pull in at least $600k-$1M at age 29.
But he works Sunday - Friday every single week and he literally almost never takes vacation. We went on a college reunion trip over Christmas once and he did work the entire time.
Haha
How would I go from McKinsey to citadel with no real financial background? Are there non financial business manager roles there?
