Gotta love a free market, OP. Good luck 😂
Dang OP. That’s impressive. Wish I could use my points as effectively as you!
Look at RTW fares through star alliance or one world. Great way to link together long chains of trips but can also typically save you 50-100k on biz class for 2-3 stop trips as well. Total rack rate retail for this trip is somewhere around $30,000, redeeming at around $.03/pt if I did the whole thing in bonvoy.
Dm me for more info, I’d say as rule of thumb 150k airline miles for 2-3 leg transoceanic trip Eg nyc -London- For a week, Egypt for a week, back to nyc is abt right, which is essentially what you’d pay straight up in miles for first leg if you’re lucky. Great thing is for like 240k you can basically do as many stops as you want as long as you continue to move east or west in one direction. Eg Porto- Paris - Athens is fine, Porto- Cairo, Paris is not. U typically also have a limit to returning to origination point so will need to go round the world, hence the name.
That’s why the cash value of these points is less than the redemption value- because they have tons of value in select scenarios but vast majority of people aren’t able/willing to take trips like this.
I’m not sure, they’re great if you redeem them on hotel travel at bonvoy but they transfer to airlines at 3to1 so pretty weak outside of their own program.

There are additional devaluations coming january 1, 2023 for award stays, doubt their intra program transfer value will change though
Say $333 / 100,000?
EY1 read the rest of the thread, OP shares what he did with them.
You guys are missing the point. They’re worth .6-.8 to redeem, but the cash value is lower. Show me a better cash offer from a broker and I’ll pay that.
And second one sold for $600 thanks all! As director1 said, gotta love a free market. And to think… there migght be people out there who want cash instead of hotel stays.
Booking a 2 month, 12 stopover itinerary all biz class for 2 people for 100k AmexMR and 600k bonvoy. love you all. Thank you for all of your wise knowledge abt travel and points. Also, those still holding bonvoy rewards points, they’re uncapping the high end hotel redemptions and matching to dollars jan1.
Idk if I’m the right person to ask because everyone in this thread thinks I have no idea what a Marriott point is😂 glad you’re paying attention, this will prob come as a shock to the mouth breathers above…
Look bottom line, from what I’ve heard and seen, if you use your Marriott points to get super high end rooms you’d never be able to afford : eg Miami edition for 75kpts a night for a $1,500 room, you likely won’t be able to do that anymore. My bet is that your avg hotels eg westins etc won’t see significant jumps.
“Then, starting sometime in March 2022, Marriott will remove its published award chart. Award nights will start pricing based on hotel availability, seasonality and cash rates. However, Marriott will put guardrails in place to generally keep award prices within current award pricing bands. That means if a hotel is currently Category 5, award prices will vary between 30,000 and 40,000 Bonvoy points.
However, at 3% of Marriott’s properties, no guardrails will be in place. We don’t have any details of which properties these will be. However, it’s likely that Marriott will apply dynamic pricing at properties with highly-variable cash rates throughout the year — such as at ski resorts — and at ultra-luxury properties.
This hybrid model will stay in place until the end of 2022. Then, as of January 1, 2023, the guardrails will be removed. Going forward, award nights will be completely variable based on the cash rate of the hotel night. Marriott’s award pricing changes are probably bad news for travelers that currently get outsized value from Marriott Bonvoy points. Once dynamic pricing is in place, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to book a $1,700+ night stay at the St. Regis Bora Bora for just 70,000 Bonvoy points.
The change to dynamic pricing is likely to reduce the range in the value of Bonvoy points. Rather than having some redemptions only provide 0.2 cents per point and others yielding over 2 cents per point, the value of Bonvoy points will likely be much more stable.
That change may be good news for travelers that want reliable value from their Bonvoy points. However, savvy travelers lose with this change. Gone will be the opportunity to use cash to book low-value stays and points to book high-value stays.”
How much you offering for 100K points?
Pro
Yeah I may be interested depending on how much the offer is
I’d do 50k AA miles (gives you a 50% bonus on transfers)
I’d also go $500 cash? Would rather trade for AA and give you a 50% bonus on the value though :)
Lmao you have 0 grasp of anything. I could literally buy them from Marriott for $850!!! These programs always charge insane valuations to buy points directly. This should be your tip that they aren’t worth nearly what you think they are.
Why on earth would marriott sell anyone points at face value? How are you a strategy consultant? What do you consult on? Is your specialty eroding p&l margin?
Well here you go this is what brokers are offering in cash… so I agree the redemption value is better using them in hotels, but if you want cash, let’s talk. Lmk what you think is fair
$750
