My resume got shortlisted for Operations Associate/Engineer-Amazon Managed Services role. I am an experienced AWS engineer with 5YOE.I feel like this role will be degrading in nature for me. Is it worth joining for this position. I would love to join Amazon based on my experience and skill set. But Not to some position which doesn't require AWS experience.

PwC will typically not fire like that without a major issue. A lot of time is spent on hiring process including internal processing, which includes many approval steps.
I had to fire someone in our group within 3 months of hiring due to performance issues and it took us more than 8 weeks to go through the essential steps including coaching etc.
A quick firing within a week of hiring is very unusual.
If you left PwC in good standing, they would probably be happy to have you back. Boomerangs are common in big 4. I have a couple friends that left for smaller firms and returned <1 year later. Pretty common in our profession
I appreciate the feedback I’ll definitely keep that in mind. If nothing pans out with my other interviews I might have to do it ahead of when I planned to
They can fire you whenever they want
Tell the truth OP. What did you do?
That’s even worse, OP! I honestly don’t expect associates to know anything, “experienced” or not. So early in your career. Honestly sounds like a toxic workplace that you’re probably lucky to be out of in the long run.
If you live in a state with at-will employment, you can be fired at any time for any reason or none at all. I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t speak to what legal recourse you might have in states with worker protections.
Yes, I met a young lady that moved countries to work at large tech organization in the Bay. . . was there for less than a month after being laid off.
No legal action really unless you were discriminated against
Corporations aren’t know for their humanity
That’s disappointing. You gotta wonder why anyone would ever leave a good job then. The downside is too big
I agree same here which is why this is so odd.
They should teach you instead of firing you. That doesn't seem like old PWC.
Just sue them to teach them a lesson. A breach of contract. Emotional distress. Defamation depending on the circumstances. Go after their asses
Bruh how did you get fired within a week.
Did you get caught stealing boxes?

Did they tell you why you were being let go?
Yeah essentially a skills mismatch
Sounds like they need to make some cuts anyways and they used this as an opportunity.
Sounds about right
Three words: employment at will
Yeah but that creates such a toxic culture. You’re just going to get a bunch of employees who aren’t really committed to the organization at best and willing to leave and poach clients at worst. What reason would anyone have to be loyal if relationships are so flimsy
I got fired with real fire and it hurts. I literally got burnt my employer gave me a free lunch as compensation which was nice of them
If your background check showed something that was not true they will let you go. Whether you were doing a good job or not. If you lie then you will get fired. No one wants a dishonest person working with them.
I actually waited until the background check came back before giving my two weeks so that wasn’t it
You or the employer can terminate pre 90 days with or without cause.
Wait, is it PwC that fired you or you left PwC for firm A, and firm A fired you?
It was my same role but with experienced in the front. Part of me thinks they over promised on salary and this was an easier way to make a cut. It was 20% more than what I was getting before plus half tuition reimbursement. I got into USC for the masters in tax program and told my manager because I was excited. Probably not a good move
Unless they have just cause on your part, I would think they would negotiate some type of severance agreement.
Most states are employment at will, unless you have an employment agreement.
yes why don't you have an employment contract?
no employment contract?
What did you work on at PWC? Tax, audit etc?
