Darden is super preppy, not diverse, and consulting case based focused.
Very worried about the lack of diversity and how it impacts networking outcomes. Do you think Cornell would be better in this regards?
Don’t know much about Cornell but
Charlottesville >>> Ithica

Start with weather. But also restaurants and activities. And then football and sports.
You do you but I wouldn’t go North.

Darden - work hard / play hard, a lot of school pride, heavy academic workload. Ppl seem to like the dean & support his initiatives. Very consulting focused.
Johnson - sweatshop culture, zero Johnson pride, a grind it out culture, students suffer from an inferiority complex & have a chip on their shoulders. No one likes the administration, they’re lower quality vs peer schools. Very IB focused.
Coach
How’s it balanced? It’s only good in IB & known to be a miserable experience with poor alumni treatment. Would take Darden over it any day.
All roads have led to Darden
Cornell can get you a good consulting job if you are willing to work the system/put in the effort. Darden may be easier but could be more geographically limited.
What are you looking to do post MBA?
Darden 100%
Cornell is an Ivy—small, remote, and strong in finance, consulting, and tech. It has a work-hard, play-hard culture, and they have sage socials every Thursday. Darden is case-based with a larger program and rigorous academics. It does well in consulting but has a different culture. I don’t get the “sweatshop” comment about Johnson. I went there and didn’t think the classes were that tough, and I did well with recruiting. It’s historically strong in banking, but today it also does well in consulting, tech, and entrepreneurship. Not much buy-side action, but it does more than Darden if you have relevant pre-MBA experience. Both are strong, but Johnson seems to be getting more traction lately.
