Well for starters you’ll be surrounded by brilliant people but the wlb may be a little difficult to maintain. It’s challenging to keep up at times.
OP if that’s the attitude you have then it’s a good one and you would be at home here. I’m not saying it’s always rainbows and sunshine here but you will have that high impact work
Expect to get projects that are mission critical have real tangible benefits on the client bottom line or work that is a direct input for investment committees or quarterly planning. Expect to be hands on picking up roles that require rolling up sleeves but won’t be grunt work or beneath your expertise and caliber. But yes a little humility goes a long way when it comes to accepting a role on the team. Teams tend to be smaller and we all wear multiple hats on occasions, but not to the extent that you’re constantly playing catch-up.
Prepare to have a ‘calling card’ because people will look to you directly for help, expertise, and guidance. Prepare to have guide books and playbooks on work you have delivered (especially if it’s high value/ high impact) because you will become a coach for a bit to help bring other projects up to speed and deliver the same value (and yes sometimes the request could come from the other side of the world)

The only culture is that there’s no culture. Every person that you work with will have their own preferences and depending on which level you come in at, success will be defined as meeting those preferences… which can get really frustrating unless you find the perfect fit for your skills. So, carefully assess the firm and the team in the recruiting process. If you’re relatively younger (<35) / looking to come in at the VP/SVP level, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. But as I said, this experience is just shaped by the people I worked with and others in the firm will have vastly better and worse experiences.
