Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

Also probably corporate tax filing
Seriously? That's odd. Maybe it's got something to do with their fiscal year? But that seems strange, because it's typically the last day of the month. I'm leaning toward strange coincidence here.
Two weeks to get all the paperwork and tech complete is to be expected, I don’t think I have ever seen a start date faster than that in a long time for an office position
Simple, it’s my birthday. CRAP! My birthday is on a Monday.
Now, to put some potential perspective on it, the 18th shows that a company added new positions prior to the end of the 1st quarter, BUT also saved money by brining on folk close to the end of the quarter. Keeps things looking like they are still on track with strategic plans while being cheap.
Lol I interviewed with a company that wanted that start date too! Now I’m curious too.
Prob a benefits thing. So they don’t kick in until the start of the month
It’s just enough time for you to give a two weeks notice and then start your new role. I also wouldn’t count out the benefits comment above either.
Rising Star
Could be a bonus that is owed if they stay thru a certain date (or don’t need to repay a bonus). Could also be stock vesting.
Second pay cycle of the month.
Maybe because March is the end of busy audit season or maybe because tax season ends by March if it doesn't extend to April. So it will be more convenient for companies to have their new hires start on March. Just my opinion.
Wow, I just attended an offer session with this exact start date 😂
All of you are interviewing for the same job! 🤣
The start of the pay period.
I also got offered a March 18th start date LOL

They may want people on the books before the April 1 start of Q2. Ask for March 25 if the 18th is too difficult and they may agree.
There*
They need time to get all your onboarding items ready I’m sure.
It is probably the start of a fiscal year when budgets reset or aligns with the start of a pay period.
Some accountants / HR people here can share better but fiscal Corporate (ie budget) and company benefits play a part plus Jan / Feb are unusual starts and a “reset” for many US companies to decide if the roles are necessary (even when advertised). Plus, they consider your onboarding timeframe so it may be just u getting set up including company rules/culture/training/etc so they know your ready April 1st to hope ur ready for their “madness” as an example.
Probably aligns with pay cycle and benefits.
Another great point! My last company gave bonuses always in early Match on a separate / “one-off annual cycle” so it could be the getting them you into their overall compensation workflow as well.
March is end of Q1. Maybe position was funded for Q1 so they're scrambling to get it filled before April 1
Is this Max1?
