This is fine. Let them bring thumb drives, too. I find it most fun when they are opposing counsel on my deals, too, so they can listen in on my calls.

I wouldn’t unless it’s family because it’s just kind of odd to bring random friends to the workplace IMO. And personally I think 5 would be too many in any context at the same time.
All just personal takes and I’m sure you could get it approved (at least at my firm I know it’s possible).

Ask HR. It’s strictly forbidden at some firms and could get you in real trouble.
Its frowned upon (i did though)

I’d only do this with immediate family/significant other.
I wouldn’t (especially not 5)
5 friends is insane. U can bring like 1 friend or a SO

Did these friends independently ask to see your office? I would find it so cringe and condescending for a friend to invite me to see where they work, unless it was like a lab or an aquarium or something objectively cooler than just a nice office. In any case, 5 people is way too many.
@A7, do you actually have a cot to sleep on in your office? One time one partner yelled at me on an email when I was a second year and I passed off all my clients with him to other associates. Don’t take that shit. You have got to move!!!
I don't want to out myself, but my office has some interesting entertainment options and a sick few of the landscape. Not odd to invite friends over if they are even loosely potential clients.
I did this after getting happy hour with four friends during the work week. Two of them were cofounders of a startup client but we were friends for about 15 years prior. Nobody even found out or if they did, they didn’t say anything or ask who they were.
Why? It’s just an office building.

This was my thought exactly - why would you want to come back on the weekend with friends? I don’t even want to be here with myself during the week!

How junior are you? Do you even know if there will be other people around - also that comment re policy.

My husband and I went to his office to watch NYE fireworks (it had a good view of the reunion tower in Dallas). Idk about 5 people though, might be a bit much?
