Can you legally be fired if you declined to work overtime during busy season and just put in your 40 hours?

Yes but it will take a while to get rid of you

This makes no sense! Of course you can be fired. No where do jobs says “as long as you work 40 hours we will employ you forever no matter performance”. If you refuse to work overtime during busy season you’ll immediately be isolated by the team who you’re forcing to do your work because...you think your time is more valuable than theirs? Absolute clown mentality

Finally a real response.

Yes.

Guessing you are an at will employee, so that means you can be fired at anytime for nearly any cause.

In the US, you can almost always be legally fired. If you need an accommodation that prevents you from working 40 hrs then your comp will be adjusted but that has to be approved through HR.

HNY all! I have multiple rollover and traditional IRAs, as well as a solo 401k. But (since I started paying attention to this kind of thing) have always been over the income limit to start a Roth IRA. I’ve also not done much contributing in the last few years due to purchasing an apartment and saving for renovations. Cue pandemic joblessness... if married filing separately, would you say it’s a good idea to start a Roth while under the income limit, even in this climate? Any reason not to?

Hello All,

Recently I was reached out by a recruiter at Meta for ML Engineer role. I have more than 5 years of experience in ML but I am not ready/prepared for an interview at Meta. What should I do? Should I just reject the opportunity or at least give it a try?

If I schedule an interview, can anyone help me with resources which can help me prepare in 15 days or so.
