Coming from Deloitte, Singapore project has been a culture shock. There are too many management layers involved in day-to-day execution—Managers, SMs, Directors, Associate Directors, even MDs. It feels micromanaged. Communication is often blunt, emails are harsh, and escalation seems to be the default. At times, some people come across as arrogant “I know more than you” and I have perceived bias in a few interactions. Overall, it’s been a frustrating experience. Has any experienced this ?

So I worked from home yesterday and my husband had a sneak peak on my meetings with clients (which I’m very new to being a senior). He mention that I should read some sales pitch books of some sorts so I can get a process down and not be drain from having genuine conversations with every client. I think it’s a great idea. This has led to issues in self-referencing title. I’ve been project manager, data engineer, developer, modeler, analysts, principle DB developer, etc. Most of my w2 work has been from offers of 1099 clients so I am usually asked to define my own title. Any T-shaped data people who run into this?
