Eh, people will probably say it's maybe slightly low, but 35-40 hours per week, you could be doing a whole lot worse.

like

This sounds great for 35 - 40 hrs a week.

That's pretty great. Rest assured

I've seen you post a lot about this OP. Are you worried about having left biglaw/private practice too early?

OP, for having never been in biglaw, this is a great outcome

This is very high. I assume HCOL area, but this is a great comp for 7 years experience in house. Could improve on the equity piece, but bonus and base are very high for in-house for that level.

like

It’s not very high, but it’s solid. As someone who does market research frequently, this comp is solid. I’m a 2020 graduate in-house in a MCOL city and my comp is only slightly lower and is not top of market. This person could probably do better, but it’s probably not worth the risk in this job market.

like

Wow that’s like less than a third year’s comp in biglaw. https://www.biglawinvestor.com/biglaw-salary-scale/

That sounds sweet

What is the equity grant? Seems like a huge piece of data we’d need to tell you how competitive this is? But even without it 35/wk for ~280 is solid

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Judge didn’t care, as soon as she heard him say we hadn’t conferred she denied the motion. Not asking a question, just needed to vent.

I am lead counsel on a case - we’re suing 3 businesses and my supervisor is a named incorporator of one of the businesses although he is not an officer. He is asking me to bring the file and meet with him about the progress of the case. I reminded him of the conflict and he stated that the conflict was resolved because he also has a claim against 1 of the companies that he recently filed separately. I don’t see how that resolved the conflict…and he’s fully pressuring me to meet. How to respond?

Second year associate here who recently switched from litigation to corporate law. I am absolutely swamped while simultaneously having no idea what I’m doing ever and I’m feeling so burnt out. The partners are pretty great and feedback is constructive which I’m grateful for, but I’m so desperate for a compliment I’ve been saving any scrap of positivity in a folder 😭 it’s December 22 and I haven’t done my Christmas shopping because I don’t feel capable of thinking about it. I need a hug.
