Depends on what your goals are.
Being successful in real estate is basically becoming an entrepreneur. You’re running a business, albeit one that has a much lower barrier of entry for investment. A lot of time, effort, dedication, consistency and investment is needed to find success.
If your goal is to do 1-2 deals a year to supplement your current income, it’s a bit easier to handle. The extra money, though, is inconsistent and still requires a fair amount of effort. After a point, many feel it’s not worth all the extra time taken up for not much more money. If your goal is to make as much as currently make, or more, it’s very difficult to do both your current job and real estate well.
Most people confuse becoming an agent with becoming a real estate investor. The latter is more lucrative and can be started part time.
