Looking at buying a house in Charleston, SC, then I want to get back to buying rental property. I already have two but would like to grow to 10 in the next 5 years. Is that possible and what are some ways to get some capital.

How do people afford to buy $1M houses in Chicago? Surely not everyone buying them is rich (which is somewhat of a subjective term). My wife and I are 30 and have a combined income of almost $300k and trying to buy something that expensive seems asinine yet people do it. Am I missing something?

My father took a home loan, and the same home is kept as mortgage.
I'm paying arround 22k emi for the same but unable to exempt tax as the loan is on my father's name.

I googled a lot how to transfer it but neither gift deed nor sale deed would work as the property is on mortgage that's under bank's ownership (until loan is fulfilled).
Tax is also getting deducted, I'm paying hefty emis.
What can I do?

Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? Hello, I am going crazy. I am supposed to close on a house on Tuesday. The buyer did not perform an inspection and the lender did not order an appraisal. The lawyer says that everything is good on her hand but I am not sure if she is the deciding factor here. Can a home close without a physical appraisal ? I don’t have a closing time yet, just the date. My realtor reached to the lender and have no heard back.

What's a good % of your gross income to be spending on housing? Does it differ if you're paying the mortgage vs renting?

I get $3200 in rent for a condo that I have $3600 monthly costs on (mortgage, property taxes, HOA fees). Although I put in $400, I make about $1400 a month in equity (15 year mortgage). Property is worth about $470k and I have $200k in equity. Make sense to keep or sell?
