Wow man nobody is going to give this much detail from other firms.
And btw, the 401k match is 25% of your contribution up to 6% which works out to be 1.5% of your salary, then 50% of up to 6% so 3% of salary.
Let's see: Deloitte phone: hardware 100% covered and voice and data 100% covered. You choose to use your own phone and expense a portion of it to Deloitte 60/40 usually. We get $50 phone accessory reimbursement every two years. Staff 1 PTO is 25 days and 12 holidays. Goes up to 30 PTO for managers. (New hires starting in sept '17 will get 23 PTO and 12 holiday). We get 4 months fully paid family leave renewable each year that can be used by anyone to care for any family member (new child, old child, parents, spouse). We get 25% of 6% 401k matching. We are eligible for the firms pension plan (with vesting). Access to Deloitte University (training perk). My past three years I have seen an average of 10% raises and 15% bonuses for staff seniors. Staff also got bonuses (last 2 years).
Yeah you should come to pwc man
I had a baby during busy season. Came back and they prorated my raise based on the time I wasn't out.
I thought raises were based on performance.
So lesson is never have a baby?
^ yeah but if you aren't working for several months of the year (and getting paid) why should you get the same raise percentage as someone who went through busy season?
Kpmg still sleeping?
Here is the data for EY:
Cell phone reimbursement: $60/month regardless of level. No hardware reimbursement. Vacation days as staff: 15
Vacation days manager and up: 22 (Increase again at director)
Firm holidays: 10 which includes three four day weekends in addition to Thanksgiving weekend. We do not shut down during xmas.
BDO sucks comparatively. That is all.
PwC also contributes $1400 to HSA each year. There's also a student debt pay off benefit of $100/month for 6 years or are promoted to manager. I think PwC3 got the rest of the benefits.
Can somebody from each big 4 fill out the following?
Cell phone benefit per month:
Number of vacation days/pto staff:
Number of vacation days/pto manager and up:
Number of firm holidays:
Any sick time on top of pto/vacation?
Senior promotion bonus:
Manager promotion bonus:
Senior manager promotion bonus:
401k match (include vesting and other caveats):
Non-401k retirement plans (describe):
Any other benefits that translate to cash/goods:
Maternity/paternity leave:
Cell phone is free. 15 days vacation, 11 firm holidays, unlimited sick. Senior bonus varies. Manager 20%. Not sure about the others. 401k is 25% of 6%. Vests after 3 years don't know the details. Up to $425 in gift cards for "well-being rewards" (working out, going to the doctor.) not reimbursed, just straight cash in your pocket. 16 weeks leave for kids.
^we need to get an intern for that
EY data continued....
Other retirement plans: The firm killed the old defined benefit pension and we now have a defined contribution pension. The amount the firm contributes is based on an age plus years of service formula. New hires will get about a 2% contribution each year. The amount increases to about 15% of annual salary for somebody with the company 20+ years and is 50+ years old. The firm invests the contributions, you have no control over it. You are guaranteed a 4% return per year. No more no less. The "pension" vests after five years. Once vested you can choose a lump sum payout or a calculated amount at retirement.
Other benefits that translate to cash/goods: EY has a "quality of life" reimbursement of $500/employee per year. You can use it to reimburse gym memberships and buy health equipment. The firm will also pay up to $75 for tax software. We can also charge $25 overtime meals for 10 hour+ days past 7:30 pm. Maternity/paternity leave: 4 months if your are primary caretaker.
Can you explain more about the four months family leave? What do you mean that is is renewable each year? Surely you can't take four months off each year for family leave? Do you have any more details about the "pension" plan, or how your benefit is calculated? Thanks for participating. Overall, it seems like Deloitte's benefits are a bit richer than EY, but not by much.
The family leave is open to males or females of the firm to take care of a family member. Doesn't have to be a child. It can be child birth, regardless of who the primary caregiver is, older parents, sick spouse, anything family related. You can take up to four months fully paid in one year (doesn't have to be all at once). Then the next fiscal year, you are eligible to do it again, four more months. However, just because you are eligible doesn't mean that it won't be detrimental to your career if you take the four months each busy season. I'm pretty sure that if you missed a busy season in one year, that year would not count for you (towards promotion) since you missed the whole learning experience of that year. Not written anywhere but kind of common sense. Also, you would probably need to have a pretty convincing case to take 4 months each and every year and stay at the firm. Again, not written down but common sense. As for the pension, not too sure about it. I know that each year, Deloitte adds a good chunk ($2000 my first year) to the pension. By the time you are a manager, you are fully vested in it. Nothing you do on your part. Deloitte handles all of it (contributions and all).
PwC vacation is 15 for the first year or two but then jumps to 22 days.. and firm holiday today is 13 not 11 based on the current holiday schedule.. which includes two "floating holidays" to be used at any point during the year
There is no senior or senior manager promotion bonus other than your annual bonus going up and raises being better in promotion years.. seniors get a week at a beach cliff side resort with motivational speakers and a life coach (not firm or technical focused) senior managers get a six week paid sabbatical
EY data continued...
Sick time: 10 days per year. Senior promotion bonus: $5,000
Manager promotion bonus: $6,500
Senior manager promotion bonus: $7,500.
401k match: 1.25% of 6% for four years then 3% of 6%. Vesting schedule is 5 years as of 2017. Years 0-2 have no vesting, then 40% at year three. The firm also contributes $4k for new employees after two years with the company at manager levels and below.
Add quality of life reimbursement: EY reimburses up to $500 (75% of cost for us) for gym memberships, equipment, etc.
