Any big law partners willing to give a glimpse at what your compensation structure is like and what your take home actually is? Associate comp is so transparent yet partner comp at my firm is extremely tight lipped. Eligible for partner soon and I have no idea what to even expect compensation wise, buy in, etc
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
If I leave my current company and join Deloitte, will they be willing to wait 5 months so that I don’t have to give back my signing bonus?
How’s everyone looking this year? I’ll end the year with 60,000. Most of the MQM are from rollover + Delta Amex spend.
Can we help someone negotiate what they truly deserve? I would start with myself. Company: EY, Position: Manager Tax, Base Salary £68,500, Car Allowance: £4,500, Bonus: £1,500. What’s yours?
I am so lucky. I’m on this flight selected for this exclusive offer to get 60k bonus miles for applying today for the Barclays Aviator Red MasterCard, enough for a round trip to Europe, Group 5 Boardg
My company filed an AOS to extend my visa and change it from L1B to L1A. I have all the prereqs being a manager both in my country before entering the US and after. Last Friday I received a message saying USCIS is sending me an RFE. Can anyone tell me based on experience what type of evidence they could be requesting?
@KPMG Sales Incentive compensation practice? I had a recruiter reach out. I wasn’t even aware @kpmg had this practice. Anyone have any experience or insight into this group?
Hi fellow USI 🐟 Did anyone recently apply for visa extension, how much time did Seyfarth took to complete the process and receiving the approval. End to end starting with initiation to approval.
I have been in consultant at a pretty well known and respected firm for the last 4 months. I am recent college graduate and like my company, but don't love my comp. When do recruiters start trying to poach? how often will firms cave to opposing offers instead of letting their junior associates go? as in, do firms really negotiate salary if I come to them with another offer? Or will they just be pissed off
Has anyone moved to Britain from the US? I’m trying to move but unsure about the process. Are visa regulations more lax or am I going to be in a limbo like the US?
I plan on traveling to Mexico for a vacation. I have an expired h1b visa based on an old h1b petition. My h1b was renewed after my last stamping so my valid h1b petition has a different petition number than that in my most recent visa stamp. Would this impact my eligibility for automatic visa revalidation?
Have anyone transferred H1b visa to capgemini recently? I am planning to accept the offer from them but at the same time having fear on H1b transfer.please advise.thank you.
💳Credit card help💳 Starting a new job in two weeks. The new company does not give a corporate card, so I get to pick my own. If things were normal and I was traveling / spending as usual, getting the CSR or AMEX platinum would make sense. But with things the way they are, what should I do? Work related expenses will be minimal, but Im moving/furnishing an apartment so personal spend will be decent. TIA!
What is a typical signing bonus when starting a new director level role? Does this vary by country or generally an accepted thing across the globe?
My visa got extended for another three years. Got my new i797 till may 2021. However, my current visa stamp (which reflects my last three years on H1B) expires next month.

Does anyone have a view on working at Shopify? What’s work life balance like in general and do they pay well? Looking at manager-level position in finance.
Salam! I’m looking to make a switch into PE & looking for advice. I have a few years of consulting experience, pre MBA, and several DDs under my belt. Looking for advice on how I can break into this space (ie should I pursue an MBA, how should I network with MF recruiters, etc). Thank you 🙏
My background isn’t in marketing/branding/PR but I’m being thrown into an engagement for a small organization who has many different sub-brands. I now how to give them high level guidance on how to ensure their branding and message is consistent. Any resources/books you’d recommend I could crash course this on?
At an M7 MBA. What are the chances of breaking into buy-side without any previous Finance background? Is that even possible?
Currently freaking out. I just got an offer from a startup that I plan on accepting but in the offer letter it includes that it’s contingent on passing a drug test. I took edibles three times over the past seven days (not daily) after going on a one+ month cleanse before this because the other company I was interviewing with I knew drug tested, and since I didn’t get it and was frustrated that’s how I chose to cope. What do I do? Do I delay signing the offer as long as I can?
Neither of my parents have a 401k, investments, or savings. They have nothing. I want to help them retire at 65 which would be about 15 years away. I’m looking to put about $15k/ year until then into an account for them. A couple questions i have though: 1. What type of investment account would be best to maximize? 2. Once gifted to them, will they be taxed if they receive a certain amount? I have little to no knowledge in investing so I’m open to any other ideas and/or advice.
Feel silly reaching out here but would love some perspective. I want to understand how much cash to keep. Currently have $305k in a Marcus account that’s earning nothing. It’s split between emergency and longer term savings. I’ve been thinking about opening a Marcus robo advisor brokerage to put some in to get better returns than the 0.05% HYSA. Any help would be great.
Google TAM - 2nd attempt after a year Hey peeps, wanted to know is there anyone who tried for 2nd time to get a job in Google (for any role). Would like to know in 2nd attempt do they raise the interview bar or ask more hard questions ? Any inputs are appreciated. TIA #GCP #TAM #Interview #Google
Help! I am 6’1” tall with long legs and long feet .... and it seems like my “go to online store” for tall pants/slacks (32”-34” inseam) as well as shoes (size 14M) has shuttered (Long Tall Sally). I would love any suggestions for either tall clothes and/or shoes. Even a place to buy custom shoes at this point - I am desperate! My slightly too small size 13 Tory Burch sandals are just not going to cut it during the colder months, even given COVID 🤪 Thanks in advance!
What’s the wlb/culture at firms outside MBB/Big 4? Been at Deloitte for a couple years and am ready for something different. Thinking OW, LEK, Kearney, or others you know of.
Any plaid solutions engineers here or if anyone has interviewed for that position? I have my interview with hiring manager soon. I’d love to know what the nature of that interview will be. TIA! Plaid
3 GT TAS interviews. Are they mainly behavioral or do they ask some technical questions. Thanks

I am just starting year 4 as an associate doing 100% med mal defense trial work. I know our insurance guidelines require partners to do a lot with so much $$$ on the line, but in 3+ years, I have only: attended 36 depos (12/yr or 1/mo) of those 36, I: noticed 3 (1/yr) and presented 3 (1/yr) I have attended 1 mediation and tried 1 small claims “trial” I feel like I am losing my attorney skills, rather than improving them. Can I expect more opportunities or do I need to make a switch?
I have an option to choose between McKinsey and Bain (India offices) after my MBA. I like the people at Bain better, but wanted to know if there is any significant difference in exit opportunities, international recognition between the two firms?
