Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

take the contract but negotiate flexibility for interviews. the PM market is brutal right now and gaps get harder to explain the longer they run. as long as you can frame the hybrid role as "I kept shipping product while being selective about my next move," it strengthens your story rather than weakening it.
one thing worth considering: if the contract is at your previous employer, interviewers will ask why you didn't stay. have a clean answer ready.
Thanks all for the feedback! If I accepted the contract job while interviewing and I tell the company I am interviewing for that I took a contract job, could that be a deterrent for them?
I don’t think it’s relevant at all to a company you’re interviewing for. Regardless of your position, they don’t need to know if you’re fully employed, unemployed, on contract, part time etc. just never bring it up. It would be weird if they brought it up, but even then you can just tell them you’re still employed full time and looking for a new role. Not like they’re going to call your manager or something and ask if you’re a contract or full time hire
