My unemployment just ran out and I’m actively interviewing for PM/Senior PM roles. My previous employer reached out about a contract, but it’s more of a product/project/BA hybrid rather than a pure PM role. I still have enough runway to cover expenses without taking something immediately.

Would you take the contract and keep interviewing, or stay focused on landing the right full-time role?

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? Is it ok to reject the offer if they make one, on the grounds of the role not being a good fit for me.
