How do you know if you’re a top performer?
Thinking about accepting a software engineering offer for BCG Digital Ventures . can anyone working there tell me about the work culture, learning opportunities, and exit opps . Im also interviewing with Zillow and am deciding wether to wait or take an offer. I’m really intrigued by the idea of building ventures and learning alot on the technical and entrepreneurial sides, but the opportunity to work for a tech unicorn is also very intriguing

It’s MBB for most things
My father is a hiring manager at a tech company. For him he considers Accenture the best since they usually have the most relevant experience. Remember, most hiring managers in tech don’t even know the acronym mbb
This.
Accenture is well known for digital also, the mbb firms are trying to expand and enter accentures territory.

MBB
Going to throw Accenture into the hat. Top tier in digital but still pushed out by MBB for management consulting and overall brand.

For PM, honestly Accenture makes more sense than MBB

This isn’t how you get into product
You can get in but if you know you want to do product its much better to go straight but have seen ex-MBB make the switch
MBB to answer your question but better to go a more direct route Vs through consulting
Consulting brand won’t help as much. They’ll view you more as an advisor and not enough hands on experience. Hiring managers like Product experience even if it’s at a small company.
Digital ventures at BCG is the way to go...
Yeah no this is not the right answer. The good DV people come to the MB because they are second class citizens at BCG.
Just do product. There's a number of ways to get into it — many of which are better compensated and have better product exits than consulting. I don't see the appeal of going through consulting to get there. (Also RB is a trash firm. Including it is a sick insult to all the other firms you mentioned.)
If you're having trouble getting into product, go to angellist.com and join a pre-seed tech startup as a PM, probably not for a lot of money (because you don't have experience and you don't know what you're doing), and then use that experience on your resume to get your first real Tech PM job.
Plenty of OW alums went to FAANG or startups as PMs. I assume it’s the same for all firms.
