Current: Big 4 accounting advisory (M&A and IPO related projects) staff 2 ~$96k. Expect promotion to senior this summer (hoping comp ~120k).

Offer: Large Bio tech senior financial analyst ~$130k. Job description mentions variance analysis, monthly closes, business process improvement.

Wlb & remote policy same at both

Goal: Want to work in tech (ie. Airbnb, Dropbox) as FA/FP&A analyst. Should I move now or wait til senior. My concern with leaving is slower progression/less flexibility

based on your goal, I think it’s a no-brainer to take the offer. don’t really think staying till senior in accounting advisory will move the needle much for where you are trying to go.

Are you EY FAAS? S1 is not close to 120k at FAAS

like

My total comp as a FAAS S1 is 120k (110 base + 10k bonus) in MCOL. Just a data point. YMMV but tbh if it’s money you want? Leave for the big tech then boomerang again for moreee

This is actually the path I took! Finally got a job at a senior financial analyst at a large biotech firm (~8000 people; 40 years old). Stuck it out for about 16 months and started applying and got a role as a senior analyst in finance and strategy at a ~250 person prop tech start up and now at a mid size public tech company

Hey guys! I just received luckily enough two offer from two big companies: one as a Senior UX in SAP Concur and another one at Microsoft as a Designer II in Microsoft Teams. The role matters until a certain point to me. What does it matter is career and learning perspectives. Do you have any previous experience with one of the two companies? All feedback or comment is very much appreciated, thank you!

Currently 25 y/o making 70k/year in Boston. I grew up pretty poor and I have minimal financial education. A lot of my salary now goes towards helping my parents get out of debt. My parents are no longer able to live on their own, so considering selling my grandmas house where they live (maybe 550k), paying off their mortgage (100k) and buying a duplex (between them they make about 55k/year). Is buying a two family home a good investment ? How much can I afford to spend on a new house?
