Just got an offer at a PE with an 18K increase to my current salary. But I’m up for promotion soon. What should I do?

Tell them how much your up for promotion for to see if they’ll do better

like

Based on group and location it may change but you can expect 10 to 12 K jump when going from staff to senior.
If money is the only thing, I would not move right now. I would wait until promotion and then try to leave which will give you another 15 to 20 percent. This will put you 25Kish from where you are currently.

Curious about others’ opinions on this as well. Interviewing with a well respected boutique during promotion year, wondering if the career ambiguity will be worth the switch from public. Respected names can be disillusioning

I had something similar a few years back. It was like $15k more. I turned it down because of EYs amazing paternity leave and now I’m making much more. Do you somewhat enjoy your job now? If you hate it, I’d say take it.

They have 15% profit sharing as part of the deal. Don’t take that into consideration?

Does anyone have suggestions for what a salary should be for a Digital Marketing Analyst | Paid Social & Performance Media? I have 1 year of experience, the job asks for 0-1 year of experience. I feel I over meet the qualifications in some areas and just meet them in others. The recruiter said 50k is the salary the company is offer. I know I can negotiate. What are your thoughts on what the salary should be?

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments. Thanks!

I was doing some googling and I saw that PWC offers MBA hires 45k in comparison to MBBs at 70k +. Is this a bad joke? I can't imagine that PWC's target for MBA hires is widely different from MBB. In the US, the pay gap isn't that wide. Any reason behind this madness?

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.
