Depending on product if you go the resource/consultant route for a place like IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, etc. you could be pulling in 200-250 easy, so I’d say it’s worth pursuing if you’re passionate about that route and you can hack it.

Not an accountant, but I’d say you could carve out a lucrative niche if you learn Salesforce and then the Accounting Subledger product addon. With your previous experience, it would be a breeze. Although, bear in mind it has some quirks.
Not an easy route - but once you get thru I think you will not regret
2 options rather than becoming an Admin
1. Look at Salesforce billing
2. Financial Force
Do the Salesforce Analyst certification instead of Admin and go from there

I was an accountant for 7 years and made the switch in careers last year - I’ve been super happy with my decision! I enjoyed some aspects of accounting but I thrive much more in this role as I get to problem solve a lot more and it’s so much more variable. Lots of transferable skills from working in accounting that will help you transition well.
