Depends what the trajectory is at the new firm. 8k doesn’t seem like a lot in the long run
You left for 8k? And you make 132? In any normal year, you’d get that in a decent performance year. With a promo, you’d double that no problem. You are literally so dumb.

I can already tell you are super annoying.. good for D that you are moving on..
I love a good plot twist
Dawg I’m from poor too and you gotta leave for more than that. You got played
Yea if you makin 100k+ you need to stop using that poor bs and own your decision. You’re not poor any more.
Probably not, 8k is nothing in consulting.

Depends on how much you’re making, 50k or 150k ...
Yeah this
You better be making less than $60k
Yeah not sure if it’s worth it for that increase. You’re stagnating your long term wage growth for a short term increase (impact which finishes due to the early promote). I would stay put!

You should reneg or substantially delay your acceptance. $8k at your $132k is only a 6% increase.. after tax that's hardly enough to justify the extra time needed to rebuild your network, re-winning leadership, learn new processes, and the loss in job security in becoming a new hire.
Are there at least any intangible benefits around the work, brand, culture, work life balance, or reduced travel?
Oh OP that’s super relevant info. Hell yeah for a $40k bonus I’d jump too.
OP, 8K is not worth the brand and credibility you have built. Early promotes at D are a BIG deal. I know, I have been on promotion panels. It means many people (not one P) in good positions really like and value you. Don’t waste that goodwill for $8k. You are essentially valuing your goodwill with th is switch.

Based on some of the snarky comments from D people here, I’d get the hell out of Deloitte for $8k less...
Jokes aside, if you like your group and your work, don’t move. You can always ask D to match / beat the offer.
I really like my job but I still interview elsewhere every 12-18 months. Just to find out what my market value is.
8k isnt much after tax :/ percent wise, I wouldnt move for anything less than 20% bump
Pro
Smart move
I’d pay $8k just to leave if I was at the 🟢
For context, I’ve never jumped for less than a 30% bump. I might slightly compromise in the current economy if I had to but not a lot.
I'm leaving Deloitte for a 40% raise, to another consulting firm and I make less than you, you sold yourself short :(.
Buttttt, just boomerang in a year and it won't matter!

Personally, 8K is too small of an amount to make a change.
8000/24 = ~ 330/ paycheck. 250 after taxes.
Depending on how big of 8K will make a difference for you, but as pointed out early, it’s not a big deal in Consulting.
You do what’s right for you. When the time is right boomerang. The highest salary growth these days is through frequent job changes every 2-3 years.
Big 4 firms pay a lot and promotions are much faster than industry. Assuming you don’t quit within first 3-4 years
Do you even have your comp statement yet?
Ask atleast for some joining bonus if they arent giving you the base.

I need more data points but 8k is not a good reason to jump especially from Deloitte. Unless you are at risk of attrition.
