🗣 We need answers! I went through 3 rounds of interviews with 2 different companies and got ghosted by both.

They take the phrase “Stop when you get a ‘Yes’” too literally. Or they breadcrumb you to keep you warm if they’re waiting on internal processes to complete, or in case their first choice backs out.

Recruiters are a low value position with high replaceability, they don’t care about maintaining relationships as long as they’re meeting their quota

Not a recruiter but gotten into some HR consulting work the last few months.
From what I’ve seen, these folks are typically drowning in work. It’s a numbers game for them.
Unfortunately, following up with rejects is not a metric that matters for them.
Well they don't have an answer. Incase they send you a negative result and you ask back the reasoning behind it that would be an additional task for them. So why bother on answering your queries. Better let you stay growling.
Also, note that I am not a recruiter but have once interacted with one so had this discussion.
Literally just happened to me. Made it through several rounds of interviews at Merck just to get ghosted!
They deal with way too many candidates to follow-up with people who are not moving forward in the process. Good ones will usually close the loop with a rejection if you made it has far as interviews but don’t expect much more. They are also not allowed to provide you with real feedback so don’t bother asking (it’s a legal liability thing). Like with most people who ghost you if they actually wanted to move forward they would have reached out.
This not to long ago happened to me. I was breadcrumbed into thinking that I was going to get an offer by a certain day. Well that day came and went with no answers to my phone call nor email.
