Do you know what an oxymoron is?
Oxymoron was not used correctly in this post
Look A2 misspelled moron and it's ironic. Look at him and laugh...
Damn, you people are ready to jump on every post possible to scrutinize and bash each other. Clearly shit is going on in your lives and you need to get the stress out on fishbowl lol
OP, I got the humor in your post. Dental insurance is nowhere near the level of coverage as medical and I only realized when we got a procedure. Our 3x cleanings are covered but husband had to get an implant this year and it cost thousands for us out of pocket (less than 50% coverage). It's the way the unfortunate system is designed. Dental field is not as recognized as an important health matter as medical... and for that matter, neither is preventative medicine or psychological health. We're a long way from people being informed enough to push for treatment/coverage in these fields.
Unless it's not... check your dental plan...
The original post was meant to be humorous. But yes, out-of-pocket costs high to make you feel like you're uninsured qualify the phrase as an oxymoron. Thanks for taking the air out of the room.
The out of pocket costs.
What are you even trying to say?
I get my teeth cleaned 3x/year and don't pay a dime out of pocket. The entire years deductible is less than one cleaning costs so it seems very un-oxymoronic to me.
Thanks, D3, you get it. Yes, exams and cleanings are covered, but extensive work requires lots of out of pocket. @D2, call me when you need crowns, a root canal, etc. For me the oxymoron label still stands.
Why is that?
Have you ever used dental insurance for dental surgery?
@A1, surgery is usually covered by medical insurance.
OP is a morob
Do you understand the point of insurance???
I am laughing at A2's blunder. Hahaha 🤣
I just got a root canal and crown with the Deloitte dental plan (my teeth are so f'd), and the insurance did its part and saved me a couple grand (covered at 80%). That being said, the $2k annual limit is shit.
Annual medical limits have grown adjusted for inflation/economic growth since 1950s. Dental plan limits haven't moved. That's why they are so low compared to health limits.
