DFW area: currently making 98k with potentially 3-5% raise and 3-5% bonus (should know for sure in July) and no CPA. 7 years of experience in PA - audit. Remote 100%. Sometimes travel to client but not much. Went through the final interview with assistant controller position for a private company. They offered 40% bonus promise. So now I have to come up with the base salary. What would be a fair number for this position? This position is hybrid. 40 mins drive each way. TIA

7 years of experience is probably 120-140k in DFW.

Ah missed the last part of the comment. I’d do some research on what this type of role pays, but off the top of my head I’d say $100k

I was too busy doing important things to spell check it vs. if…small screen, bad eyes, looked the same to me 🤷🏼‍♂️

Good thing we are ironing out the essential things here….

My advice: Don't anchor yourself to your current salary. Like others said, research the range of comp for the role/ position. I think Assistant Controllers should be like $120-$140k

Doesn’t this completely depend on the salary number?

Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?

I am wondering if I can see what other brands say to influencers that they reject? In the program we use we either approve them or reject them. Once they are rejected they get an email saying that they are. I have tried googling a good nice way to reject an influencer but all I get is how an influencer should reject a brand. Not a brand rejecting an influencer. We don’t want to be rude & would like to keep the door open for future collabs if they meet our standards in the future.

I have been in the electrical / Electronics field with an exp of 6+ yrs. To be honest these fields do not pay as much as their IT counterparts. People in IT discuss on being underpaid at 20LPA whereas ours is not even half of that. I need to know now is that with 6+ years of industry exp. Can I switch my streams for a well paid job. If yes please do help me out. Even otherwise I am open to suggestions and advice.

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. For example, I get weird international stuff sometimes that not everyone gets (I think maybe? ) and I need to reread the 5471 rules or 8865 rules as I do the returns. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher

like

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
