How is that even petty? They are respecting the new rule and probably want to close out the week with the team.
Seems fine, would rather have a 4:30 Thursday than Friday. I have a no Friday afternoon meeting policy with my teams
Yeah that time is fair game as long as everyone’s working the same hours…Only reason to schedule a 4:30 Friday meeting is mass layoffs 😐
4:30 isn’t bad
Is 4:30 now not inside the workday and not on Fridays? I’m so confused.
As long as it’s not a big meeting and you can understand people having a hard out at 5, it shouldn’t be a problem
I don't see the issue. Please explain?
OP expects all Friday meetings to be canceled forever
CIO implemented a summertime "If it's Friday and sunny and you're caught up, Get Out at 2pm" rule. He would even stalk the hallways a bit to make sure it was being followed.
Except for one director (yes, under him) who took offense & went to HR to make sure her managerial discretion wasn't being stepped on. Her people had to stay until 5pm.
She also forbid her staff in partaking in casual/jeans days.
On a larger scale once someone's board position was consolidated, he had Deloitte go through everything our division did with the intent of gutting our budget and staff. They came back and said they were surprised we did so much with so little.
(spoiler alert - I should have bailed then)
Well that manager sounds like a real peach
What's quitting time or does your company not know what that is? Are these physical meetings or video? Doing no off the clock meetings. I'm in at 4:29 and done at 4:59.
