Displaced from a fully remote position in 2024, I’m now employed by a financial firm but the in office requirement is putting a strain on my family. I like the job, mgr & company but RTO compliance is part of next year‘s performance plan. I‘m still job searching. The subject matter I work in is very niche so my leaving could be detrimental. If I get an offer for a remote role, is it worth taking to my current company to try to negotiate remote work? Do I give them a chance to say yes or no?

Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. We have a wide variety of needs but don’t necessarily need to have this future person have all these skills. For example we need someone with great copywriting skills and also need someone who is great at digital marketing. This person doesn’t necessarily need to have both skills but if they did great, but if only one, great too.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change.
