Do companies typically reach out to you after finishing the interview process or is it more common to never hear anything again? I feel like the professional thing to do is to let everyone know they’re moving forward with another candidate but no one seems to do that.

I noticed most of the bigger companies send an automated rejection email and some of the smaller ones ghost you. Good luck if you are looking for a job.

Bigger companies with solid online application tools will update the status of your application accordingly.

Most ghost

Base case is ghosting

Once I waited three months for a position in our private bank side gave up and took a smaller promotion …. They offered i was disqualified. Learned that day that if they haven’t called or emailed they maybe still deciding. After a month send a thank you for the interview what’s the next steps email

I feel like I never hear back, I just get ghosted. It drives me nuts. Atleast let me know I didn't get it. I can handle the rejection LOL.

Hi everyone, currently at MBB in Europe and have a couple of buyside processes coming up where I will need to step aside for several hours at a time on some days to do interviews (up to 3-4h sometimes). Should I be open to my case manager/mentor about this or better keep it close to my chest and say I will be out for [insert random excuse]? I really want to be open and work collaboratively with my team, but at the same time wondering if that is a big mistake.

I just got promoted to Manager at a midtier firm - top 20. We are scheduling staff and seniors back to back jobs w/o giving them proper time to wrap-up. Seniors to have to work OT (salaried) constantly to wrap-up their jobs after hours and weekend, resulting in high burnt out rate. Is that common at the other midtiers?

I'm a 1st year @ a civil lit defense firm. I summered here and got the "our firm culture is amazing, we want to grow and help you learn" pitch and accepted the offer of $75k, thinking that was what most other associates make (I'm 1st gen). But today I found out that associates with 4yrs experience are making $80k; for hitting the 1950 billable req., the bonus is $1k. I've also found there are big DEI problems that I can't overlook. It feels like the pitch was a big lie. Advice?
