Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

Yes. Typically looking to fill holes in practices that have grown faster than they can fill organically.
Looking for strong consulting skill set at the appropriate level plus depth in that specific practice area. Helpful to be able to grow the business based on relationships and reputation, especially above Principal.
Typically involves lots more Partner and Senior partner interviews for AP+ roles. The bar is extremely high to come in directly as an AP (if coming from a Tier 2 consulting firm, should have been a Partner there etc)
