Not in my professional life of 9 years, I have addressed Seniors/Managers/VP/CEO etc. as "sir".

Lesson learnt:

Never tell your colleagues where you are joining beforehand.
Not all are good advisors, some will ruin your mind with their opinions.

Any Hr people out there..my wife is going through a harassment case against her boss. He is retaliating against her and other staff. On going for years. I am about to leave my current organization and I have several thousand in outstanding commission owed to me. I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative.
