I wouldn’t see why not. I wouldn’t judge someone for being laid off, I’d only judge them if they lacked the drive to get out of that situation.
Being unemployed per se should absolutely not stop you from dating. The only thing is, if being unemployed is making you very insecure, anxious depressed etc that might you harder for you to (i) date (ii) be seen as attractive. So definitely don’t stop dating but if you see that you’re not in a great place, prioritise getting better over going on endless dates. Good luck OP and you’re worthy regardless of your current employment situation!

Somebody that’s laid off can show glimpses of their character, grit, resilience, ambition and goals. It also gives the person an opportunity to offer support, which can say something about them.
I've found it hard to date but mostly because of the stress. Not having a full time job has made my life really unstable, and managing the anxiety makes me less good company. When I do get a date, I actively practice mindfulness to turn on the charm, but it is hard to really plan a future when I don't know when I will have a good career role again, or if I'll even live in the same city in a month (might have to relocate).
It isn't ideal. I have a part time gig that I am working while I'm applying, which seems to have helped brunt any concerns others have, signals an effort to get back on the horse so to speak.
If you can manage your emotions, then it should be fine, honestly when you click with someone it could help you get out of a funk
I wouldn’t date you if I knew you asked this question - makes me think you put way too much emphasis on work. Personally I would never think twice about dating someone because they are laid off
I know that and understood- my point is you are putting a lot of emphasis on this and assuming there’s a good chance you are doing it when dating others as well. There’s no judgment about morals nor do I think it’s a morality issue. It’s a preference or priority issue and I’m saying it would turn off somebody only if they are prioritizing status and money
