Crossed $1M 4 yrs ago, I was 46. I am in wealth mgmt in a client facing role, with over 20yr of experience. Hard work and making the right career moves were major contributors.
That’s great! Thanks for sharing your story.
hit 1M 2 years ago at 46. Client facing role, built book of business from scratch. It was a grind early on pounding the pavement to drum up business. Made peanuts first couple years, got traction and started focusing on who my ideal client is that’s mutually beneficial. Secret sauce is that I love what I do. I don’t feel like I’m going to work when going into the office. I think that goes along way when interacting with clients. They comment all the time how they’ve never met someone in finance that truly enjoys what they do. Humbled and blessed.
financial advisor. interpersonal skills and communication is a must as well as a healthy dose of high emotional intelligence
Those folks in finance are all at C suite. They're not in this app. You may find some software or product or marketing sharks who made it. But they're working hard and no time for being a key card warrior.
Basically, hard work and being at the Right place at right time.
Beg to differ
Wealth management. Took a job as an FA shortly after college. Made peanuts for two-three years. Kept going with it.
Hitting 1.3M gross this year, but I took over a business this year or else’s I’d be at 750k. 39 yrs old . 16yrs in the biz. Caucasian. Both hard work and luck. I live eat and breath the business and love it. It’s just like a football team that focuses on the fundamentals- eventually you start to win the big games, but the people who hate that team will say they’re “lucky”.
Wow! mind if I ask what kind of business do you run? and how did you exactly get into it?
