Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I like my job, but I love myself more than my employer. Self-care is always a top priority for me, plus I do my best work when I feel well taken care off not when I'm burned out and fed up with life
So how did you get to that point? Is it within your control to regain agency over your time?
I see, that seems like the opposite reaction you should have to becoming stressed or overwhelmed. It's in those moments that we need to take some time for ourselves and recharge our energy. Maybe it's time to take a vacation and reassess how much of your time you give to work?
Always, what's the point of working hard and being good at my job if I don't reap its rewards by taking care of my mind and body? It's all about striking a balance
Not always, but I know that's something that I need to work on. I think I just put a little too much pressure on myself to go above and beyond at work and sometimes i forget to be kind to myself
Yes, I absolutely prioritize self-care. It's so important to take care of yourself both mentally and physically, especially when you're constantly putting others first. I like to schedule in regular self-care activities like yoga, meditation, and massages, and I also make sure to get plenty of rest and eat healthy foods.
Taking care of myself helps me stay energized and focused, which ultimately allows me to be a better friend, partner, and overall person. My mood changes, I feel invincible, it's a whole different feeling.
Self-care is important to me, and I try to prioritize it. I think it's important to take care of yourself, both mentally and physically, and I try to make time for both.
I think it's especially important to take care of yourself when you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, because that's when it's most important to have some "me time." If you're feeling stressed out, try taking a day off and see how you feel.
