No we hate it when you guys come and try to make our state blue
EY10, I would encourage you to read some more history books on this subject. The argument you are using is literally the exact same argument like verbatim that was used to engage in the mass genocide of native Americans and other peoples. Timeframes matter…Hunter gathers had settled there for thousands of years before Europeans ever knew it even existed. Europeans didn’t have an inherent moral right over it just because they had advanced farming concepts. You could say they have a “survival of the fittest” right to it, which is obviously self-evident. However, if you want to use that as your argument, you are in company with the Nazis. They also used that argument…frequently.
We actually view those places as run down, homeless, overly inflated, tax-ridden and poorly managed states.
EY 3. I would argue that California does not have a functional grid. Rolling blackouts are quite common
What’s funny is that while Texans complain about angelenos...they fail to realize that most people from LA are transplants emulating behavior they saw in a Hollywood movie. People that are actually from California are just laid back, friendly, and easy going. So why don’t you all (namely Texan and mid-western transplants trying to become actors) leave CA. 🥳
Most of the folks commenting on this thread have likely never visited or spent significant amounts of time in any of these states so their opinions are just their individual bias. Interesting discussion nevertheless.
I believe it. But do you live in Chicago proper? I lived up on the North Side, Albany/Elston, for about ten years and even there it was starting to get a little dicey when we left.

upscale, trendy, and classy? I think you misspelled overpriced and pretentious.
Moreover, if you moved from NY or "the west cost" (by which I assume you mean something like LA, because there's a lot of mediocre small west coast towns), there's probably a good reason, and we know it. If you could hack it there, you'd still be there.

Texans- We love the military!
*makes military move to Texas*
Texans- Don’t move here! Go back to your blue state!
…..just my personal experience.
Lol. No.
No. Not admire. And admire is probably an imprecise word choice. Some people here in Texas do hate people from NY and CA due to political differences (I don’t). The others who don’t hate, they don’t admire people from NY and CA either. Based on my limited experience, you’d be “admired” if you’re white and you’re from the UK or fancy EU countries (France, Germany, Italy, Scandinavian countries, etc.)
They will admire you if you're CEO of JPM, BAC or one of the hedge funds.
If you're a typical poor bloke in a tiny apartment with no AC, theyll gladly tell your how your state is a poorly managed, overtaxed and crime ridden.
Judging a person by where you come from doesn't give insight to learning about a person and their own experiences.
The problem with Dallas is that it wants to be New York. The problem with Houston is that is wants to be Dallas. The rest of the state wants to be left alone.
Lol. No. The only thing I feel for them is compassion because their cities have been run into the ground .
Actually people in most states, red or blue get offended by the attitude of people from New York or California who think they're superior to the rest of us
New York City or nowhere.
Nope. Don’t think so.
- NY born Austin resident
You’ve clearly never been to Texas 😂
Just going to place this right here :)
Lol seems to have worked seeing how the 2020 election went

I honestly do. Texas is known for what exactly? Ignorance, guns and the Alamo…
Ignorance doesn’t exist in NY or CA?
100% right! My friend moved out of suburb to the city, after being thoroughly frustrated and having no interest in life and almost at the verge of collapsing into a vegetable life. Now my friend is immensely happy and cheerful in the city! Ofcourse it came after the divorce - so make your own choice that makes you happy. Remember - it is ONE life to live.
What tha
Haha. No. A buddy of mine with a PhD from an ivy league school has had trouble looking for work in Texas coming from NYC.
No
Maybe for people who haven’t travelled, but for those who have then no definitely not hahaha New York is also quite dirty, but great city still
