Where my DC peeps at??
Hi, I recently came across Scaler's MS program, which offers masters degree in collaboration with Woolf University (European University). And, I am looking move to Canada in near future. Will the master degree offered through this course will be accepted by the education evaluation institute WES? If yes, is it considered as equivalent to Canadian Masters degree? How many days in a week are you visiting office?
Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily. Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work, good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

No we hate it when you guys come and try to make our state blue
EY10, I would encourage you to read some more history books on this subject. The argument you are using is literally the exact same argument like verbatim that was used to engage in the mass genocide of native Americans and other peoples. Timeframes matter…Hunter gathers had settled there for thousands of years before Europeans ever knew it even existed. Europeans didn’t have an inherent moral right over it just because they had advanced farming concepts. You could say they have a “survival of the fittest” right to it, which is obviously self-evident. However, if you want to use that as your argument, you are in company with the Nazis. They also used that argument…frequently.
We actually view those places as run down, homeless, overly inflated, tax-ridden and poorly managed states.
EY 3. I would argue that California does not have a functional grid. Rolling blackouts are quite common
Lol no. People in Texas despise Californians.
I moved from California to Texas to be closer to family and honestly I can’t wait to go back haha.
Texas is fine but man I miss the food, the outdoors, and the weather of Northern California.
You'll be fine in Texas if you don't try to change what makes it Texas. We liked it plenty, and may move back at some point, and we came from New England.
If any from California or NY is looking to move to a cheaper please. I would recommend Montana or Kentucky, those places are beautiful and they see NY and Californians as Gods. Dont come to Texas. It sucks here.
Pro
Most New Yorkers aren’t even from New York to begin with. They should just move back where they came from.
No.
Texas is great place itself.
You won't get any brownie points for coming from NYC or Cali and you aren't looked up or down
I’m not sure I’d make those extrapolations. First, all these transplants are driving up the cost of a home. Not popular with the locals. The political mindsets are pretty different in TX as are life experiences, exposure to a variety of religions, diversity, equity, and inclusion, lgbtq+, etc. Someone from NYC (“city slicker”) or west coast (“granola eating, tree-hugger”) may need to do some extra work rather than assume they’ll be lauded by Texans… I’m saying this as someone who grew up in Dallas, went to school in ATX, and has since lived in NYC and in multiple locations on the west coast since. When I think of TX: It’s a great place to be from and a great place to visit. It’s too traditional in its mindset and too adverse to change for the better of humanity. Plenty of supporting data in 2021 alone… Things to think about for that person moving to TX from NYC or the west coast…🤞🏽
Yup yup. I’m in that same boat. I enjoy visiting friends and family still there but it wears thin pretty quickly.
Upscale as in the vast poverty and crime of LA? Trendy as in the radical leftism fueled by hypercapitalist techies? And classy like the pedophiles of Hollywood? Hard pass.
Don’t come to our state
I went to college in Texas and moved back to my flyover state. Texas is awesome, the people were super nice, no complaints. Any vacation to NY has grossed me out - that place is very very dirty
OP sounds really desperate for validation. Kind of sad in some ways. I don't think of people from New York at all
Pro
Speaking as a New Yorker, I don’t know why any self-respecting person from the center of the universe would need validation from anyone, let alone Texans.
Now if OP is from California, I’d be a little closer to getting it.
No. Most places in America tend to laugh at CA and NY. I was born in TX and grew up in VA,DC and live in CA now. Each location and it's people are different, like it that way, and can be suspicious of outsiders, especially until they acclimate a bit. Texans, from my understanding, are very local in their thinking and likes and dislikes. After all, smile when you say Texas!
From Cali but I did leave 27 years ago. 😂
Just came here to read Texas hate
As a Texan I can confirm we hate y’all
Reaction might defer if you’re talking about moving to Dallas, Austin, or Houston.
Personally, welcome to the state. Enjoy the food. Don’t act like you’re better than anyone. And don’t put beans in your chili.
Agree! I went to school in Austin and love it. I grew up outside of Houston and visited family often in Dallas growing up. And have shot there recently a few times. Moving from a city to another city is going to give you a lot of the same headaches though. Especially the driving and traffic and poor public transportation. Yes gas is cheaper but man is there so much driving and sitting in traffic.
lol wtf is this question
Absolutely not. The character of a person is much more important to us then where someone came from. Your question is somewhat disappointing in how you seem to value those areas more than Texas but frankly not unexpected. IMHO Texas is the most American of all the states and frankly a great place to live and work.
As a native NYer who left at 32 and has lived in other states since, I can tell you the answer is no. They just ask why you’re so dressed up.
I assume it’s because they are insecure and want attention.
What a deranged question to ask
My guess is they’re happy to have you as long you don’t try to New York their Texas.
Rising Star
Right now I feel like NYers are moving to FL more than TX. So more like don’t california my Texas
I grew up in Texas then I moved to NYC after college and now live in the Bay. For a state to is so obsessed with freedom, they love being beholden to HOAs and controlling other people. Besides a few pockets which are usually the gay neighborhoods or the “artsy” neighborhoods (where most of the fun interesting stuff is) the food is mostly chain restaurants. When I visit home it takes a day to get past the “oh wow everything is so new and clean!” And realize how pretty boring and monotonous much of it is. Not to mention the sweltering heat, the unpreparedness for cold and extreme weather) insane traffic and the need to drive everywhere. I think it’s an easy place to settle for an easy, regular, perfect fine life. Especially if you have a family and want space. I’ve personally never felt more “free” and alive than living in NYC. Nothing is impossible there and it’s just buzzing with excitement and energy. I love the convenience of beauty in the Bay which is why we settled here. A short drive to incredible hiking and beautiful parks, woods, beaches, etc. absolutely NYC and CA have awful things about them. But IMO the pros for what I’m looking for outweigh the cons. Here. I’m not ready to be beige quite yet.
