I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Agreed. Pay is fair and decent ($58/hour). I work in a small acute care hospital and I am happy with my pay. It helps me live a comfortable life. I did take a $10+ dollar an hour pay cut to switch from retail but work life balance is much better. Beyond my pay, I am passionate that the technicians should make more as I rely on them so heavily for everything. I am only as good as my technician. They can make or break my day and/or my career. They deserve much more.
Sorry for the late reply. I studied a lot and I’m still learning stuff daily. I am also 20 years out of college and no PharmD. I found a way in by moonlighting at their outpatient pharmacy. I did one weekend a month for two years to build my reputation as a reliable person. Once the perfect position for inpatient opened, I applied. Now I work 4 ten hour shifts M-Th and I love it. I will never ever go back to retail pharmacy.
I work in New Haven County, CT in retail. Make $65/hr. Fill 500/week. So not too busy. With 20hr tech help per week and two 40 hr pharmacist, It makes my day go by, but not crazy busy has most national chains. There is a shortage in our area, with chains paying high has $75/hr with bonuses up to $20,000. They will make you work for it!
I locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensed to the patient. I also track inventory for the most part. I make about 18 dollars per hour. It's not much, and I think I should get paid more to be honest/
I’m in retail (just transitioned out of hospital due to relocation). Currently making $10 less/hr than my hospital rate and also less per hour than when I graduated pharmacy school and worked retail. But I am still within the current rate of what most people here are deeming “fair”. I disagree. Pharmacist pay has continually been decreased over the years. In-part by direct decrease (starting pay decreasing) and in-part by disproportionate “raises” not accounting for actual inflation. All while being asked to do more with less. I’m honestly pretty discouraged by our profession. And who keeps reporting shortages of pharmacists when there are almost zero job postings…. 🤷🏻♀️. I don’t really understand what’s happening …
I totally agree with this. Our pay has stagnated for a decade at least. They’re actually offering new pharmacists $5 less per hour at my company than I was offered as a new pharmacist 15 years ago. With the cost of living skyrocketing my once affordable life doesn’t feel so affordable anymore. I have a great job that I love, so I’m lucky in that respect, but I think pay for everyone that depends on someone else for their paycheck in general needs to increase.
I work in long term care.
I think base pay yes, it's fair to come out of school and be offered 48-65/hr depending on region. Less than that, I wouldn't consider it personally.
The problem I have is with the raise structure. There's no incentive to go above and beyond. We all get the same raises, if any no matter what. So we just need to do enough to not get fired.
Thus, If you were told by your parents work hard and it'll get noticed and the money will come .. not in the pharmacy field. At least not in my experience.
Can't wait for my yearly review with my supervisor that doesn't matter. Just whatever the company deems everyone should get as a raise.
Which region do you live? Most pharmacists are offered $55 to $65 dollars per hour. That is a pretty fair rate if you ask me. Bonuses and raise structure is discussed prior your onboarding date. You should have known already if the whole compensation is good enough for you.
I work in a hospital. I transitioned from outpatient setting a couple months ago. I enjoy the continual learning and patient focused care in the hospital setting. I also like that I’m treated with respect from doctors. The metrics aren’t as important in the hospital also.
Prior to transitioning to hospital setting I was looking to leave pharmacy. Now that I’m being trained clinically, I feel like I have the experience to say that the future of pharmacy is bright. Before i had hospital experience I felt that the doom and gloom of pharmacy
To get this job I had to move to a more rural area. It is worth it and I know in the future I will be extremely thankful for this sacrifice
