Any Spotify people here? Noticed there’s an AM role going at the moment in the UK but not sure what experience level it is. For reference I’ve got 6 years in ad sales experience with 3 years management (both in music industry). Would this be comfortable or is it worth holding out for AD?
Any thoughts on the CISM certification?

I don’t work in IB but I know of people that do. The advice in here is absolutely awful. MBA is probably your best shot at recruiting. If you want to though with an FP&A background you should be able to lateral into a regional boutique bank that covers the industry you work in. Recruiting for IB is a grind. Oh, and for the guy that recommended you take the CFA don’t listen to him. That is absolutely useless for IB.
This is the way. People not in IB just spouting false information smh
Top 10 MBA - recruit for summer internship during fall of 1st semester- kick ass during internship - accept full time return offer
You would need to get a fpa role at a fund and put in some sweat equity.
Agree
Get an MBA
VP1 that’s categorically false. Getting a target MBA is the primary way to transitioning into IB
MBA or network your way in.
Agreed with the above. Went to a Top MBA that regularly sent 20-30 students every year to banks across the street, so had a lot of classmates and friends that went thru the process. CFA is useless for IB Associate recruiting. Worst case scenario, it may even hurt your case, as bankers in charge of recruiting for their firms may wonder if you really have an eye towards asset management in the future. Your best bet is going to a top MBA program full time and securing an IB summer associate internship.
