Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

We don't have the claims volume to justify the amount of adjusters we currently have in the Prop org. We should be happy they are reducing headcount via attrition and not laying people off.
They haven't done them recently to be considered current strategy. Literally every role has been subject to layoffs at one point or another, or multiple times. And using IAs to some extent is always going to be part of strategy as we need to have overflow levers in place.
We’ve shed a lot of business the past couple years…A LOT! which in turn reduces the need for adjusters. When we’re growing in PIF once again they’ll probably hire more.
Technology should be reducing the number of adjusters by allowing everyone to be more efficient and clients submitting photos rather than waiting for the adjuster.
Unfortunately, I see a lot of scamming that could be done. A false claim, with photos from some other home in another state with a "friend in the estimate business" writing and submitting an estimate. You still need a set of "company eyes" on the damage.
