Does anyone else struggle with not taking things personally when a deal falls through or you go for so long without closing? Am I just not cut out for sales?

Longevity of a deal is relative to the business. Some things that are constant is it’s all a numbers game. The more you talk to the more opportunities you have. You won’t make everyone happy. When deals fall through it can be tough, especially when you have built rapport and invested a lot of time. Some sales people don’t ask. But I find it important to ask them why they are changing their mind. You might be able to find a work around by just asking. Stay positive and good luck

Hi 👋. I posted here a few weeks ago about being nervous conducting a PIP conversation with my team member.
I did it this week and let me just say it was the weirdest conversation ever. The guy is usually argumentative and tries to disprove every bit of feedback. But this time he just sat there and asked no questions and said nothing.
Maybe he’s looking for new jobs already - don’t mind this at all and this would be a good outcome for him overall.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
