Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

Oh wow in elementary school?? Or are you in the upper elementary level? I work with 3-5th graders and they probably wouldn’t have an opportunity to use AI - we never give writing homework. Most writing assignments are done on paper (at least a paper graphic organizer) before they’re typed on a Chromebook, and my school uses goguardian during computer use times - teachers even project it to the smart board sometimes. You can definitely tell if a student is on a different site immediately and as the teacher you can control what tabs are open on a computer and close tabs unrelated to the assignment.
I’m a special education teacher so I’m lucky that I have the time and sanity to know exactly how every single student on my caseload writes and their writing, punctuation, grammar abilities. I’m even luckier to work in a pretty small district so I typically loop with students for 2-3 years depending on numbers. I could DEFINITELY see some of them being smart enough to use it for homework as they get older, but I’m a firm believer that kids need to play, listen to stories, read for fun, and interact with the community outside of school. I detest giving rigorous homework and rarely give anything other than maybe a small fluency assignment or 10 minutes of math fact practice with a parent signature. Let parents decide what their kids can handle at home 🤷♀️
I definitely still recommend looking into goguardian for your district! I feel like elementary students by me aren’t all using AI right now but MANY of them are easily able to open up a distracting tab - it’s been such a game changer to have a little weight behind me when I say I can look up anything and everything you do on a school issued device! Also it’s probably only a matter of time before it trickles down to us. I think it’s a good idea to be prepared for anything :)
