Sinus Rinse really helped me (neilmed)
Flonase plus azalestine (script required) has been my go to during allergy season. Very effective for me while Flonase itself has proved quite useless...
Stop eating dairy and you will never feel better. #1 cause of sinus issues but never gets talked about
Awesome! Disregard my advice then :)
Allergy shots
Gut health.

Allegra is the only thing that sorts it for me
In addition to what everyone else has said, how about you pillow, sheets, bedding?
Old pillows can harbor a lot of things that aggravate allergies. You should replace them periodically. Also make sure you clean your comforter, sheets, and pillow case. More than weekly.
Wow I definitely don’t clean my bedding more than weekly. How often do you clean yours and do you do it on the hot setting?
I had a similar issue, although mine doesn’t seem quite as severe as what you are describing. ENT did sinuplasty in his office - basically they dilate your sinuses using a balloon and it sort of pushes everything back in place.
This gave me relief for a while, but I ultimately had surgery to reduce the turbinates and fix a mildly deviated septum. Largely symptom free for three years (except a couple of weeks per year when I take seasonal allergy medicine) plus I sleep much better
For travel, i scheduled surgery between cases and I think ent only said no flying for two weeks. I then happened to start on a project that was a three hour drive or a one hour flight, so I drove for a few extra weeks
I don’t remember any sinus pressure issues or restrictions with just the sinoplasty
A pharmacist once recommended i use OTC sudaffed in conjunction w my OTC allergy meds and it WORKED
No allergist or dr gave me that suggestion and nothing they had said had worked prior. Wish i had ran into that pharmacist sooner!
M2 - risks to OTC Sudafed or do you mean the Decongestant behind the counter
This has worked wonderfully for me

I've suffered with severe allergies for almost 20 years. I did immunotherapy for 4 years. Not a fan, huge hassle and results didn't last after I stopped getting the shots. In those 20 years the only allergy medicine that worked for me was Allegra D.
You didn't state what you are allergic to so hard to give advice. Air purifier for sure though and no carpets. If carpets are unavoidable get a powerful vacuum with HEPA filter - I recommend Riccar
I think I’m having them of late. I’ve had partial-to-full hearing loss (otitis media I believe) in my right ear for a week now. Talked to my mom who’s a nurse of ~25 years here in TX, said it’s likely allergies and that they’re far worse than usual this year. My hypothesis is it’s the lockdowns having destroyed our natural immunity built up by being out in the world, where we belong.
Weirdly, after years of terrible allergies, I switched from an antihistamine to Singular, an asthma drug that also helped allergies before getting tests done and the drug switch fixed everything.
Consider trying a non traditional drug!
Seconding sinus rinse - make sure you use distilled water. I have both the squeeze version (bad days) and the pot version (normal days). Now I use singulair all of the time with Flonase when season gets bad.
Where do you live? I’ve been this way since I moved to Texas. Never had much in the way of allergies in the 3 other states I lived in before I moved here but 5 years later it’s still just as bad. I take Astelin prescription nasal spray daily which helps me get by but it’s still not great and will be the nail in the coffin that makes me move.
Sorry to hear that SC2! I totally understand and resonate with the struggle 😭 I live in NYC but this issue has followed me from other east coast cities I’ve lived in
Move somewhere else. Seriously, some people are incompatible with certain local flora
What sort of nasal spray did your allergist suggest? I’ve used Dymista, which is prescribed, and is more effective than Flonase, b/c D includes same active component + azelastine hydrochloride. Also, sometimes you need to try different OTC oral drugs (for at least a week each) and often the ones with pseudoephedrine (I.e., with the D at the end of name) are more effective bc they help with post-nasal drip. There are other small behavioral things that will help; some ppl like to sleep with windows open at night, but unfortunately that will only exacerbate nasal allergies.
Similar issues like yours and live in DC area. Especially worsens during Cherry Blossoms season. Eyes are now red, inflamed, itchy too. Doc just switched me from Allegra to Claritin-D and it seems to be working for now. I also take it at night before bed so atleast I don’t wake up sneezing and with running nose.

Claritin doesn’t work for me at all
Buy a netti pot and sinex in cvs and you’ll feel great!

I had nasal turbinate surgery, take allergy shots (2 years now), allergy pill, Flonase, and use arm and hammer salt mist to clear my nose. Try combining multiple things in your treatment plan. I also have an IQair hepa filter running in my apartment along with a high quality air conditioner filter that grabs allergens. Multi-pronged approach.

Yes. They just cauterize some of your turbinates in your sinuses with a zapper. They will numb them with a needle first. It takes about 30 minutes and then you drive yourself home. After that you will have some scabs and blood that come out for a few days. Pretty simple procedure.
Neti pots are orgasmic. Only downside is that the relief is temporary. I’m sure you’ve already done this but check your air filters regularly and get a HEPA filter
