Starting a new year next as year three clean and sober and now since then I have gotten an apartment, a car, and a job I love, a hobby I enjoy and have grown exponentially! My parents were raging alcoholics and I suffered in silence until college when I was already drinking at sixteen and overseas I started drugs in college! There is a light in the tunnel and self love vs. self loathing is how I treat myself!

What are your favorite international destinations for traveling with kids? We are getting the travel bug, but trying to figure out something realistic with a 10-month old (likely will be closer to ~1.5 years when go this fall / winter). We're in the mid-west, so Europe, South America, Asia are all options, but have their own trade-offs (flight time, time zones, ease of logistics, safety/security, etc.).

My parents and I just no longer see eye to eye — I’m out of the southern bubble now and after coming out as gay, it’s like we’re just incompatible. Every conversation is strained and they judge and critique every aspect of my life, even though I’m finally feeling happy and settled in my career. How did you handle a new chapter of your relationship with them?

How to constructively talk about the long term future with SO? We (both 26) have been together 6 years with the last 3 as LDR. We are supposed to be moving in together over the summer, but given she is moving across state lines I don’t think this should be a light decision. To those of you resistant to family cars - I’m a sports car driving, fast car loving, low to the ground kind of mom-to-be. (e.g. no back seat, no back doors). Obvi I need to get a new car but what isn’t too large, makes sense for a 3 person family (no more kids coming), while not sacrificing my need for speed and desire for a smaller/low to the ground/well handling ride? So far considering an S4 /S5, 3 or 4 series. Back doors seems to be a requirement for getting in and out of a car seat huh!🙄
