Hello Guys,
I joined Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?
As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

A lawyer is essential. The information (and there will be lot of it) needs to be packaged up in a very specific way. I then used nearly the exact same package to apply for a green card.
Start collecting your info now: Award wins; burb about the awards; judging, press about you and the work you’ve touched (grab everything); get friends at companies that the average person has heard of (Google, Apple, netflix etc) to start writing your recommendation letters (a good lawyer will have some decent templates)
Covey Law in NY are the best, they specialize in O1 visa. Fair price also, google them up.
Nice! I’ll reach out to them. Than you.
I got a lawyer and he was super patient and helpful. I can give you his contact information if you like. 😊
I was fortunate enough to get the agency’s lawyers to help me with this. These are the things that you need to compile for this to happen - screengrabs of awards won and/or publicity write up on any kind of media and recommendation letters. Start there and everything else are pretty straightforward.
If you want to get the visa on your own, hiring a good immigration lawyer is key to write your case in a compelling way. First step would be to talk to one of them and understand further what you need to qualify for an O1 Visa. Generally speaking you’ll still need a sponsor (could be an headhunter, for example), letters from 3 companies that state they are open working with you, plus awards certificate, letters of recommendation from industry leaders etc etc

You can technically self sponsor an O1. This is good for freelancer. But although you can add an agency to your O1 from my experience agencies usually prefer to handle that. I did it both ways.
However if you have the requirements for an O1 you may have the requirements for an EB1. That will give you more freedom and the renewal period is longer than the 3 year for the O1.
Rising Star
No. For the self sponsor O1 you will need to either have an LLC or an agent. The letters you need are a little different too. You’ll need people on top levels to state their interest on hiring you as contractor
I have had one for almost 10 years after my H-1B terms ran out. I was at a big network agency and they had a big expensive attorney who helped me out. It was super helpful actually. I had to provide a lot of info around awards and such and get letters from peers. But once you get it you can renew it indefinitely as long as you prove merit. Keep any and all documentation about yourself on hand!
8-10k is quite high. I paid closer to 5k. Half during filing, half upon approval.

I know of a lawyer that helped me get things moving quickly. Like the previous mentioned, it’s all about accumulating press and making beyond obvious that you’re considered exceptional in the industry. Can msg me and I’ll refer you
Yes a lawyer is absolutely essential - mine was great if you’d like me to share their details.
A lawyer was very helpful. It is a lot of paperwork and documentation and helps to have them keep it all sorted, so when you submit everything is in order.
Costs about 8-10 k all in with a lawyer, which I would recommend. If your agency pays you need to stay for about 2-3 years or they’ll send you a bill for 15k. You also probably won’t get a pay rise during this time.
