Trying to fill 2-3 days somewhere on the west coast (will be coming from Seattle before coming back to the Midwest). Was thinking San Diego maybe - what is there to do in San Diego? Would it be fun solo? Any other places I should go instead? Basically have a full week off after 4th of July, thought I would just chill at home but now realizing I probably want to spend at least some of that time going somewhere.

I have been working in SEA region last 4 years. I feel burned out. I have 10yoe, I have try to move to other country but I pretty much suck in LeetCode. I want to take some time off to unwind, finish some personal business, and really prepare for interviews. I would like to hear from you. Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

Best consulting exits for work life balance in SEA?

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
