Does anyone know of any basic SQL courses I can take which would give me a certificate I can add to LinkedIn? Doesn’t need to be particularly academic, but just something to show that I know how to write SQL queries/extract data?

There is nothing academic about SQL. May be go to coursera if you are looking for a certificate and complete basic SQL course

Read SQL For Dummies. Not kidding, it's a great intro

Why do you need a certificate to prove you know SQL? Your resume should tell the details of how advanced you are and your experience. Python. R. Stata. Teradata. BigQuery. If you know it, you know it. You can’t learn this overnight or with a course because you need to understand the data you will use that is specific to your employer. You can prove you know SQL with a certificate, but it’s useless unless you understand the details, limitations, and accuracy issues of what you are calling.
