I do a not-so-intense version of this on some of my clients that do not necessarily have a phobia or chronic disorder but may be very anxious about a certain situation. I have them picture whatever is it they are anxious about actually happening and walk them reacting to it or rationalizing the outcome. Works pretty well, so I can imagine that exposure therapy can be really effective.
Why would you need to get a specific certification for exposure therapy? Isn’t your license enough? Just pick up some books on operant conditioning and look at some journal research articles on exposure therapy for various phobias.
