Serious question- since team matching is taking so long. Is it worth taking another offer for now and switch to Google few months down the line? Not the most ethical I know, but I can’t keep on waiting… and I can’t stand another second of staying in my current job

We have a big project going on and I am the only point person(initiate it, did lot of work, and knows the deets well), seems like my mgr wants to get a headcount. But I want to use this opportunity to get promoted, how can I get this across? Mgr is new(they fired my old mgr), mgr’s mgr is new too(re-org). So not sure if I should/can make a case, or how.

Joined EY India a few months ago in tech consulting and have been working 12 hrs a day + 4-5 hrs on weekends and official holidays too. How do you win back a partner’s trust after making careless errors (e.g., misstating case law)

Does anyone have a case they never really felt good about even after it ended? There are a few where I know I did my job correctly and to the letter, but the outcome has never satisfied me or it didn't get solved how I would like it to. Did I do the wrong thing if it's still on my mind years later? How do you know that your choice was the right one when people still got hurt?

Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.

What are some things that are helping you avoid burnout recently? I've been spending a lot more time outside, blocking off my schedule more consistently, and even taking extra days off. Slowly I'm starting to feel more like myself!

How many therapists (and social workers too!) see a therapist themselves? Do you find it helpful?
I think there's this myth that therapists have all their own sh*t figured out, and for me at least I know that's far from true (hopefully it isn't just me). On the contrary, I think we should be leading by example!

Since we're headed towards cold weather and the holiday season, let's talk about how we can take care of ourselves during the fall/winter and beyond. For example, I'm buying a sun lamp because it's about to be 50 degrees and raining for 6 months 🤦🏻‍♀️.

How have you dealt with/recovered from burnout and feelings of numbness while working as a therapist?

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. I felt like I was lowballed during my offer, and my negotiation salary was denied since this is technically my first “professional” job. Pt 2 in comments:

Do you think all these violent and hate filled attacks are because people aren't getting the emotional/mental support they need, whether it's therapy at any age or help they needed but didn't get from a social worker as a child? My coworker is sure this is the case, but I honestly think there's actually something deeper wrong either with how these people are being raised as children, or how the warning signs these people give off are ignored or swept under the rug to save face.

I am seeking some guidance. I am a new medical social worker working in our hospital as the hospitals first social worker. So In addition to it being my first social work position in a hospital I am creating my position, with a lack of supervision. I am in rural mammoth lakes ca where the cost of living is very high (ski town). I have my BSW and am set to graduate with my MSW in December. I am hoping to negotiate my pay currently I am at 31.69 hourly. Any guidance is great
