Does anyone work at consulting firms where analytics is less of a support function? Been frustrated with my firm because my team is basically there to support Deal teams instead of taking the lead on the data analysis, exploration, and dashboard. I'm proficient in Python (Numpy, Pandas especially), Alteryx, SQL, Excel, and am getting better at PowerBI. Wondering if there are firms that might have use for my skill-set and personality of wanting to lead projects/talk to clients/travel a bit more

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. Looking for advice: I have an analyst (9 months on the job) who still doesn’t get it - repeatedly misses comments, doesn’t follow instructions, slow, etc. I have raised this to both my MDs and they seem to be adopting a “not my problem” approach when I mention it.
