Does anyone work at Merck and know how to get to the interview stage with no referral for a job?

Guys, I interviewed at amex gurgaon 10days ago and was told by VP that I will hear from HR very soon. But when I checked on HR yesterday, she said interviews are still in progress and it will take a week more to finalize.
I want to know do they take this long to close a position? This opening was posted on 30th Sep.. It's already been 1.5 months. This is when they said the position was urgent!! 🙄

Hi Fishes, Great to connect here. I cleared my R1 for PepsiCo for L4 level. The HR told me I would have to attend 2 more rounds and they would get scheduled based on the panel's availability.
