Early on I had a job where we got paid monthly, and there were a few times when it was a problem. I had to learn to be careful about my spending, just to make sure I didn't wind up broke by the end of the month. Getting paid every two weeks (as I do now) is probably easier for most people to handle.
I guess when I was in grad school and TAing I would get paid once a month, but that was only a couple years and it was grad school so it didnt' feel like a real employer. In all of my professional jobs I've always gotten paid every two weeks. I would struggle if I was getting paid monthly right now
Thankfully I have only ever had jobs that paid me every other week. I know that people say you get used to getting paid once a month after you've had it for a bit but I don't think I would like that at all. I prefer getting paid every other week.
