At PwC PTO/vacation does hurt, holidays don’t.
Utilization is client service hours divided by 2080 (ie 40 hrs x 52 weeks)
Holiday and PTO don’t hurt you.
Same as D2 - it doesn't matter if I hit my chargeable goal now or on the last day of the year. I keep a spreadsheet that tracks my charge hours month to month so I can see at a glance if last month I was under 20 hours, but YTD I'm over 110 hours still (thanks busy season) I don't worry about it as long as I'm meeting all of my deadlines.
Who cares, stupid metric anyway
Doesn’t it? I thought (at PwC anyway) the only thing that would lower the denominator is training
At KPMG Advisory, we have both Actual Utilization and Adjusted Utilization, which removes PTO, Holiday, Community Service, and up to 80 hours of Training per year. Mgmt says only Adjusted matters.
