I love industry.. would not go back to PA for any reason. I like the interaction with peers that are your age in PA. In industry I feel like the personnel I work are much easier to handle and talk to than the new staff coming in from college. In PA it also felt like someone was always out to get you and unnecessary drama was spread through the staff.
Life is great. Pay is better, balance is there. Work is interesting enough, but it’s the people and their dullness that is making me miss public life haha.
I find that I enjoy my work and now get to enjoy more of life too. Life is way to short and beauty is wasted on the young ;)
OP, I feel ya. However, I'm using the situation to my advantage to get promoted faster, get bigger bonuses and raises. Working good so far. I say go get involved with an outside group, doing whatever it is you want to do, that has a lot of younger people to make up the difference.
I don't love industry, but I dislike public. The only part of your statement that I agree with is that people in public are younger.
